Afroki – No Beef

I will never forget hearing “No Beef” (by Afrojack and Steve Aoki featuring Alyssa Palmer) for the very first time at Freaknight 2010 with Steve Aoki. He dropped this massively hard-hitting track and the whole place erupted into dancing. I have been waiting for just about a year for this track to officially come out. The wild electro house beats plus the soothing voice of Alyssa Palmer makes this track absolutely irresistible.

The man, the myth, the legend ….Laidback Luke.

In my opinion Laidback Luke’s INCREDIBLE talents are rather understated.  Laidback Luke aka Lucas Cornelis van Scheppingen is a Dutch dj and producer.  I have had the pleasure of seeing Laidback Luke twice and each time I have been massively blown away.  Not only are his killer electro house beats electrifying but LL has this amazing ability to spin what’s hot, funky, and fresh into flawless sensational sets.  His sets tell a story from start to finish and they always leave you wanting more.  I love how LL’s quirky sense of humor tends to creep into his sets and beats effortlessly amusing the audience.  What else makes Laidback Luke so awesome besides his insight for the next hottest sound and outrageous talents behind the turntables?  It is his inherent ability to connect with the audience – he can do it with any crowd, in any place.  Laidback Luke is an absolute genius with heart.

Now with all that said here are download links for live sets from one of my all time FAVORITE djs:

I’m backkkk with a hard-on for Hardwell!

So after being in almost complete internet-less isolation, I have returned with a vengeance and a hunger for electronica!! DJ Hardwell or simply Hardwell is HANDS DOWN one of my absolute favorite djs and if you haven’t ever listened to him it’s time you started. RIGHT NOW.

Sexy boy.

He has a KILLER radio show on Sirius XM called Hardwell on Air, which everytime he posts a new episode he usually has it on SoundCloud for free until the number of free downloads runs out – so just ‘like‘ him on facebook and you shouldn’t miss out on his funky fresh beats.  At only 23, Hardwell is a Dutch mastermind.

Here is a clip of a remix of Morgan Page’s ‘In the Air’ he is working on:

Flashback Fridays Spotlight: Benny Benassi

Flaskback Friday Spotlight: BENNY BENASSI

Ask anyone, and they will tell you that we have a disgusting obsession with Benny Benassi.  He’s dirty. He’s cool. He’s sweaty. He’s smooth. And best of all, he gives us Satisfaction with each and every track he puts out.

He didn't name his first hit 'Satisfaction' for no reason...

From tainting the world with his filthy beats, to freezing Facebook with #Benassispam in a Fanrank #1 Fan contest (that annhilated by the way).  We know the in’s and out’s of his HUGE role in the electro-house world and even though his recent transition into lighter dubstep may have some heads turning, we want to take this opportunity to bring back just what makes Benny, Benassi.

Benny Benassi. Way, waaaay back in the day.

We have THE one and only electro-house classic.

It started with the ‘Satisfaction’ video, and followed with ‘Who’s Your Daddy’.  Scandalous videos for the win!

Who’s Your Daddy

One of the more ethereal tracks. ‘Rocket In the Sky’ is reflected in the recent hit ‘Spaceship‘ with Kelis

Rocket In The Sky

‘Feel Alive’ never ceases to inspire and uplift.  Branching into the beginnings of the lighter side of Benassi’s dark tendencies.

Feel Alive

‘J’ai Pas Vingt Ans’ emerged as a collaboration with Alizée, who went on to work with Benny on numerous other hit tracks

And of course, a little Benassi mix up with ‘No Matter What You Do’ (Vision X Long Mix) #LOVEit

No Matter What You Do (Vision X Long Mix)

His sound began with tones deeper and darker than you would except from present day Benassi radio hits, particularly with his earlier albums Hypnotica, Phobia and Rock N’ Rave.  Extensive work with The Benassi Bros. including his cousin and producer Alle succeeded in further expanding Benny’s range of sound.

More recently, a brief (at least we hope…) stint working with a more mainstream techno-house feel with Electroman, 2011’s Global Dance Festival suggested that the B-Man’s newfound ‘love of dubstep’ (thanks to dubstep guru Skrillex) may be the direction he is headed next.

All we know is that Benassi never ceases to surprise and energize us.  Be sure to take a look at the ‘Best of Benny Benassi’ album for a wide array of his timeless work.

Satisfaction every time. Guaranteed.
